January: The Augusta Futurity, Civic Center - Jan. 17th-26th, 2008

 In 1979, a group of Southeastern cutters met in Atlanta to discuss establishing a major cutting horse show for this region of the nation.  For the last several years, tickets for more than 2,000 reserved seats have been pre-sold.  The final rounds on the second Saturday night usually attract a standing-room only crowd of more than 6,000.  Visit their website for all this years’ info. March:   Aiken-Augusta Spring Rowing Regatta,  Savannah River, March 15th 

The Augusta Rowing Club is perched over the waters of the Savannah River. From this point the water continues for 11 miles downstream from the boathouse, ideal rowing territory, as it is one of the longest stretches of rowable water in the world. The stretch of the Savannah River that runs along the Augusta Riverwalk makes for an ideal setting for this annual thunderous event.
